Early Detection Screening:
discovering diseases in time
The earlier the intervention in the disease process, the better the chances of success in treatment. A large proportion of those who die from cancer would have survived if the cancer would have been discovered in time. The same is true for many who die from a heart attack. It is a well-known fact that about half of those who die from a heart attack never had any symptoms prior to the attack. Therefore, it is essential to identify the risk factors before they become a problem. This is one of the goals of our examination.

It is about your survival
Survival statistics depending on the spread of the cancer*
Early detection refers to the discovery of a local tumor. At a late detection, the tumor has already spread.
Types of cancer Early detection Late detection
Colon 91% 11%
Lung 49% 3%
Bladder 92% 6%
Renal 90% 10%
Prostate 99% 32%
Breast 98% 27%
Uncomfortable facts, but
important to know:
  • 30% do not survive their first heart attack
  • 15-30% may be permanently damaged after a stroke
  • 1 of 4 dies of cancer
  • 1 of 3 dies of heart attack or stroke
  • Of those who receive late diagnosis of colon cancer 91% die within 5 years, but of those who receive an early diagnosis only 11% die within 5 years.

Cardiovascular
diseases
Myocardial infarction is the most common cause of death in Sweden today and accounts for 30% of all deaths. Each year, well over 20,000 are affected by myocardial infarction. The incidence of heart and vessel related diseases are almost as high in women as in men. The development of the occlusion of the blood vessels is a process taking several years and is determined by controllable risk factors as well as non-controllable risk factors. When you suffer a heart attack or angina the vascular changes are usually already well advanced. It is therefore of great importance to find arterial changes at an early stage prior to the development of symptoms.
CANCER
In the Western world, cancer is the second most common cause of death after cardiovascular diseases, accounting for about 25% of all deaths. Only in Sweden, annually 50,000 people are diagnosed with cancer. Today there are proven diagnostic methods to detect many cancers at an early stage when they have not yet shown any symptoms. Many of those who die of cancer would thus have been saved with the type of examination that Executive Health offers.
Prevention

The purpose of our examinations is not only to discover serious diseases but also to provide us with an opportunity to find each individual’s most important risk factors in order to tailor-make a preventive program.

“Early detection screening has over the past few years seen a very strong development in the U.S. and it is a great satisfaction to me that I am able to offer these services through Executive Health in Sweden as well. The purpose of these comprehensive examinations is to detect diseases before the appearance of any symptoms – in order to improve our patients’ chances if treatment should be necessary. Thanks to the comprehensive scope of the examination, we also get an extensive picture of the patient’s general state of health.“

The Health Survey of Tomorrow –already today!
Executive Health offers the most advanced and safe screening program in Europe to detect diseases with probable severe consequences for your health if not treated in time. We utilize the latest technique for detailed examinations of the heart, arteries, abdomen and the brain. Our experienced physicians carefully review every aspect of your health.

We screen particularly for cancer and cardiovascular disease. Since our opening in August 2008, we have examined more than 4 000 people. Most of the findings have been treated at the clinic where our doctors also have successfully coached our clients to lifestyle changes in order to have many good years of life. Surgical cases have been referred to hospitals.

A default for us is not to create unnecessary anxiety. Therefore, we examine only the things that should be taken care of immediately and therefore we perform neither DNA analysis nor other tumor markers than for prostate cancer on a regular basis.
Executive Health’s team of doctors and nurses, ensures that you will be personally taken care of and get a first class experience, from consultation to examination and appointments. All our doctors are well known in their fields, they have a background of clinical research and a minimum of 25 years of clinical experience in the public health system. Some of the findings from our examinations lead to research benefits, including an ongoing research project with Karolinska Institutet. This is a partnership that strengthens our expertise and increases our knowledge of cardiovascular diseases and tumors. All physicians at Executive Health have been active as directors of departments at large hospitals prior to their careers with us.
